| At 13, I graduated from 8th grade (now called MIddle School). Back then elementary school went up to 8th grade. Here I am getting ready to leave for the graduation, holding a violet nosegay. Very popular bouquet then. I received the highest award at graduation for a girl. One girl and one boy chosen from the class for the American Legion Award. It was the only award presented to the class. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This is the uniform for Senior year, when our school became Helix High School. This outfit was silver glitter and green. And our mothers had to sew and make all these outfits !! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Helix High School Graduation !! It took place at the Greek Bowl at San Diego State College. June 13, 1952. Was very happy to finish school, for awhile. I was 17 at the time. Tried college, but didn't like it, so went to work to earn money and get out in the world. Probably not the right decision. Years later returned to college for more education. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
