St. Nicholas cemetery in Garfield N.J. Steve points to the spot where Placido is buried. Steve is a Deacon in the Catholic Church and shared a prayer service for Placido! He needs a tombstone so the 2 families of Placido put money together and almost one year later, Placido got his Tombstone! He was buried here in 1909 at the age of 71. The grave-marker was placed in Sept. of 2005, a long wait. Placido had at least 9 children, all but 1 born in Sicily. Placido was a fruit merchant in Palermo, New York and New Jersey. Maria Marchese is also noted on the tombstone, she was Placido's grandaughter from son Joe, of N.J. She died a few days after birth. This was a discovery for the N.J. Marchese's.

On the left, are three grandson’s of Placido, Vince, Joe & Steve in front of the house in Lodi that they lived in with their parents Joe and Assunta Marchese.
Next we went to St. Mary’s Cemetery where Placido Jr., son of Maria & Placido Marchese  & wife Aida Zicardi Marchese are buried. She is the daughter of Teresa Marchese,

Placido’s 2nd wife, Maria Vincenza is buried here plus son Joseph and his wife Assunta. Joseph is the father of Vince, Steve and Joe Marchese. Angelina Marchese Stassi was the daughter of Placido and Maria Vincenza. Angelina and Joseph were half-siblings to my  grandpa Mario.
