Roma-Forum

After leaving the Capitol Building, we went around back and there in the valley below is old Rome or the Forum! We entered through this arch! TheArch of Septimus Severus! The legendary Romulus is supposed to be buried just inside? After entering, looking back, Tomb is supposed to be under big rock on left? The building {Curia} where the Senate met was to the right side of arch!
Not sure what these ruins used to be? Found them interesting!
Scene's looking back across the valley, some of the building were so large I could not get them in lenses!
This is Basilica Aemilia, it was an ancient Palace, but it’s design became a model for all the medieval Churches that followed! It was built on top of some other ruins.
Looking up to the right as we left is the Palatine Hill area. Palatine is where we get the word Palace! This is where the Imperial Houses were! Now there are just scant remains.

We exited through the Arch of Titus, and started walking down this road toward the Coliseum, this is where all the Roman armies of the past have returned from their battles! Thanks for letting Marlene and I share a few of our memories  with you! Traveling is a real challenge and you have to be flexible for sure!
