| The Usticesi visitors were interested in seeing an Island here, so we planned the trip to Santa Catalina Island. We caught the boat in Dana Point, it is a 1 hour 20 min. trip. Here is Pietro and Pina (sleeping) and Maria and Salvatore Compagno. Catalina Island has alot of similarities to Ustica. Pietro and I also have a planned meeting with Avalon City officals to talk about the possibility of Catalina and Ustica becoming sister Islands? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Arriving in the harbor ! Many boats docked there and the beautiful view of the famous Casino, where in the 1930's it was the sight of many visitors as they danced on the top Ballroom floor to the "Big Bands." The Ballroom is still the sight of many events and a beautiful theatre remains in operation on the bottom floor. Daily tours are given to see the beautiful craftsmanship of this 1929 structure. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The 1st picture is the veiw from our deck at our hotel, Wow!! Above my friend Chuck has volunteered to take us on a tour of the Island and up to the airport for lunch!! | Our 2nd sight seeing stop was at local Park. Out on the lookout point are Sal and Pietro!! Then my friend Chuck and I and next then Chuck and Pietro. | This was our road up to the airport? The trees on the right were planted many years ago to keep cars from going over the edge!! Next is Pietro up on the tower looking out. Next is a picture of a map of the island that Pietro took. In the next picture Chuck is showing us were we started and where we were headed! At lunch Chuck mentioned several times about showing us a large map? I thought it was a standard map on the wall inside!! SURPRIZE!! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
