Visiting Catalina Island

Page Two

After our lunch at the airport, our friend and guide Chuck Liddell offered to show us around the rest of the Island. The 1st thing of interest was the buffalo above!! We woke him up, we could almost touch him out the window!! Later we stopped at a farm like sturcture where the Bald Eagle and the Golden Eagle were housed. Chuck explained that the Conservatory was trying to re-establish the Eagles on the Island!!
In the pictures above, on the left we are approaching "The Little Harbor" it is like a little Park. The coast line is like the coast of northern California. Very picturesque!! Please Click on pictures to enlarge!! After enjoying our visit here we were tired from the early morning drive and boat ride, Chuck wanted to show us more but we opted to return to Avalon!!
Above is a beautiful vineyard that we passed, and the old house was once a stagecoach stop on the road we were on. The other pictures were taken by Pietro of the harbor!!
Back at the hotel, Maria and Pina in the golf cart. And another veiw across the valley, from our deck!!
Chuck had a few other things to show Ron and I, on the left is Avalon's Lombard St. And on the right is looking back across the valley from the other side!!
Later in the day we went out looking for dinner. On the left is Sal and Pietro. The girls on the right have found an Italian Flag!! I wonder if we are having pizza tonight?
