Great views and good exercise. Felt like a mile each way. This was one of the best parts of being in New York.
My first day was ,Walking the Brooklyn Bridge !!
The bridge was completed in 1883. Here I am at the Brooklyn end.
Looking back at the New York Skyline.
A different view!!
The tall building in the center is the Empire State building!!
Here is some of the good food in New York and Brooklyn. To the left is the Pasticerria Ferrara's in Little Italy, opened in the 1880s. To the right is the best pizza ever, at Euopa's in Brooklyn. The owner is a good Sicilian friend of Maurizio's. Mangia !!
These 2 pictures are taken in Valley Stream, Long Island, where Maurizio and Courtney live. To the left is Courtney by the stream, and to the right is the typical houses there. Beautiful architecture.
We got to travel to New Jersey to visit with cousin Joe Marchese and wife Gerri. We went to the St. Nicolas Cemetery to see the tombstone of great-grandfather Placido Marchese. It was such a privilege to see Joe and Gerri again and the tombstone.
This tombstone tells alot of the New Jersey Marchese story. Maria Marchese was Placido's 2nd wife, Joseph was one of their sons, Asunta was Joseph's wife and cousin Joe is their son..
About the year 2010, the Pavone's moved back to San Diego, had a darling boy, Giovanni, and have settled in LIttle Italy section of San Diego. Next is some pictures of Giovanni, now 3 1/2 at the Hotel Del Skating Rink before Christmas 2013. Click on the Flag above for the Next Page!! Click on the Pictures for Enlargement!!
